Destiladeras Beach…a long time favorite of the locals

Heading north on the road to Punta de Mita and just a few miles past La Cruz de Huanacaxtle you will find Destiladeras Beach (Distiller’s Beach).  This is another beach favored by the locals for a very long time and if people from Puerto Vallarta spend 40 min. to get to this beach you have to believe it is worth the drive.

This beach extends for about 3 kilometers, the sand is white and comfortable, making it a perfect spot to spend a day of relaxation and sun bathing. The waves are good enough for the boogie boards so there is a little fun for everyone, bring your own or rent one, the fun is guaranteed.

For more adventurous surfers, on the southern part of the beach, the waves can reach up to a meter and a half (five feet) high, a true delight for the fans of this amazing sport.

On the evening, enjoy a walk along the white sand as you relax with the sounds of the waves and the sight of an incredible sunset.

One thing that must be mentioned is  the delicious seafood served in the restaurants at the beginning of the beach, they are build the traditional way and with a “Palapa” roof, a truly local ambiance, listen to some accordion Mexican music or what ever the occasion brings and sing along to traditional Mexican tunes with a beer in your hand.

This is the traditional Mexican day at the beach!

The Puerto Vallarta Area is full of these amazing spots that you would hardly find on a travel agency, look for them and enjoy them if you really want to experience the real Mexico.  If you have any questions about the area or how to discover it, please let us know, we are always ready to help.
